The First General Assembly of CINVU was held by the Islamic Strategic Management Institute efforts with the presence of Islamic countries' academic representatives.

According to the ISMI Public Relations Report, The approval of the statutes written by the Islamic Strategic Management Institute and the membership of new universities from Islamic countries were among the propositions accepted by CINVU members in the First General Assembly hosted by Iran's Payame Noor University in the capital of this country.

In addition to electing Dr. Karim Najafi Barzegar as the Secretary General of this network, CINVU members also agreed to extend the hosting of the Iran Islamic Republic and establish a permanent secretariat headed by Dr. Ali Karimi Morid, the Strategic and Executive Deputy.

The planning and organization of this international event has been done by the Islamic Strategic Management Institute in cooperation with CINVU Secretariat and Iran's Payame Noor University.
